Alone by Meghan M.

Alone, watching the waves close in on me
Does anyone see me standing out here
But how could it be, but how could it be
And now the waves are quite close and I fear

Peaceful yes, but I wonder how could you
Say that you love me and then walk away
And now you see I know what I must do
You will never know what happened today

Quickly the waves pulled me away from air
My body felt lifeless and I was scared
And I thought of you but you were not there
Then I realized you had never cared

Now I am below and no light is shown
I enter the end and the start, Alone.

Meghan!
I loved reading your poem. I really enjoyed the way that you made the reader feel like they were the ones standing on the beach alone. I think that, that was one of your strong points throughout the poem. I also believe that the words in your poems really show off the theme of the poem. I think that your theme was love. I think that having your theme be so clear made the poem that much easier to analyze. Good Job.

Meghan, I really enjoyed reading your poem. I think that the words are about love and I think that this poem flows nicely together. I think that the theme is being alone and wanting to be with somebody. I think that the intended audience for this poem is high school level people, probably females. Over all Meghan, I loved your poem!

Meghan, your poem was wicked good. I think the words are about love, and heartbreak. I think that the mood of the poem is peaceful, but sad. I think that the intended audience was high school age girls, mostly because I can't really see a guy reading this. I think the theme was love. I thought that imagery was a strength of your poem. One reaction I had to your poem was to read it again, to be able to understand it even more. Good job!
